On July 15th, 2024, the U.S. Forest Service finalized its amendments to another portion of the Forest Service Handbook (FHS) addressing grazing permit administration. The final version of FSH 2209.13, Chapter 90, can be accessed on the National Directives Website at 2209.13 - 90 - Rangeland Management Decision Making. These amendments are the latest in a series of revisions the Service has made to its guiding manual and handbook. The changes took effect on July 15th. The Public Lands Council will continue reviewing these changes and stay engaged with producers to examine their implications moving forward.

Forest Supervisor Neil Bosworth signed the Record of Decision for the revised Tonto National Forest Land Management Plan (land management plan) on December 8, 2023. The Record of Decision documents the rationale for approving the land management plan. This revised plan will replace the existing 1985 land management plan (1985 forest plan) effective 30 days from December 8, 2023.

partners across jurisdictions to reduce
wildfire risk to people, communities, and natural resources while sustaining and restoring healthy, resilient fire-adapted forests.
